Literary translation represents a significant part of my career. It brings me many positive challenges in the form of puns, anagrams, idioms, dialect features, and cultural specifics. I approach each text with the utmost respect to the author and bring their individual style to Czech readers.
I have a long-standing cooperation with eminent Czech publishing houses Albatros Media, Mladá fronta, Grada, Svojtka, and many others. This cooperation has resulted in more than 40 publications, among which are contemporary fiction, Young Adult, cookbooks, lifestyle books, fantasy series, and thrillers.
Furthermore, I have translated several sci-fi, horror, and fantasy short stories for the Czech magazine XB-1.
My favourite projects were the translation of Mexican Gothic and Velvet Was the Night by Silvia Moreno-Garcia for the publishing house Host.
